A boat carrying migrants from Lebanon sank off the Syrian Coast, killing 77 people. The Health Minister of Syria said on Friday, quoting a TV, this information has been given. He said that about 77 migrants were drowned when a Lebanese boat loaded with migrants sank off the Syrian coast.
Lebanon is the country which is facing the worst financial crisis in modern times by the World Bank since 2019. These days Lebanon has become a launchpad for illegal migration. Citizens here are struggling to leave their homeland to join Syrian and Palestinian refugees.
The small boat that capsized Thursday outside the Syrian city of Tartus carried about 150 people, the most of whom were Lebanese and Syrians.
Syria’s Health Minister Hassan al-Ghabash told state television from the al-Basel hospital in Tartus: “Seventy people have died.
Health Minister Mo. Hassan said 20 people had been rescued.
He is undergoing treatment at K. Al-Basel Hospital. Medical officials have been on alert since Thursday afternoon to assist in the search operation.
